Finding strength within our Yolŋu families
Our Yolŋu team work with families who been referred to the Family Support Service (FSS) in the communities of Galiwin'ku, Milingimbi, Gapuwiyak and Ramingining and surrounding homelands through a case management model.
The FSS involves providing support and assistance to families to:
-
help them keep their children safe, at home
-
reunify children in care with their birth family
-
support pregnant mothers to develop healthy and safe children
-
involve fathers to build and strengthen connections with their children.
The FSS involves two primary forms of service and support:
-
Provide practical support in families’ homes and daily lives to help them build parenting skills and maintain a safe environment for children to grow up at home.
-
Refer and connect families to the services they need and support their progress towards success.
